Nicky Gluch
Nicky Gluch happily combines her passions for writing and music. After leaving science study behind, she is now a presenter and feature writer with Fine Music 102.5, while also completing her Masters at the Sydney Conservatorium.
Nicky is currently studying for a PhD, focusing on leadership and empathy in relation to conducting. She spent the 2018/19 academic year studying at the London Conducting Academy following previous experience as a conductor with the UNSW Medical Orchestra and other small ensembles in Sydney. Now back in Australia, she will conduct a chamber symphony by Dmitri Shostakovich.
Nicky has authored two children’s books through the Sydney Jewish Museum – Goodbye Maman (2018) and The Year of the Dragon – to be released later this year. Her memoir, The Universal Language, published by Sydney School of Arts and Humanities, brings together her two passions in sharing how music might be used to bridge difference.
