SSOA's latest novel PUCCINI'S BUTTERFLY by Sue Howard has received excellent reviews following its recent launch at Ariel Bookstore in Paddington, Sydney.
The launch paid tribute to the talent and dedication of the author of this posthumous novel, a lively and sympathetic narrative of the celebrated musician, Giacomo Puccini, highlighting his life and loves.
A deeply-researched work of historical fiction, the story is based on a love affair Puccini had with a young woman which inspired his creative work, the world-famous opera 'Madama Butterfly'.
The publication of this spirited novel, Puccini's Butterfly, was initiated and funded by Sue Howard's close friends and family to honour her work, following the completion of her manuscript before her untimely death. Her first novel, Leaning Towards Pisa, was published by Penguin Random House in 2012.
Those attending the book launch celebrated the author's valuable legacy. The historical novel is available in ebook and print (paperback RRP $24.99) at Ariel Bookstore, Abbeys and Dymocks in Sydney's CBD, Woollahra Bookshop, Berkelouw, Gleebooks, and other local and global bookshops, as well as online at Amazon Books and Booktopia.
