Sydney School of Arts & Humanities hosts several weekly writing groups, where authors share and review one another’s writing, and (optionally) take part in a ten-minute writing exercise.
Work ranges from memoir and non-fiction to novels, short stories and poetry. Authors are at different stages of writing experience and publication.
We have more than 2,000 members of the Sydney Writers’ Circle Meet Up who are eligible to attend, whether regularly or on a casual basis. New faces are always welcome.
Currently held on Tuesdays from 10.30am to 12.30pm, the OMG! Memoir Group focuses on people’s personal stories and experiences. It’s a very supportive group that provides a ‘safe space’ for people to share their personal histories.
Creative Writing & Memoir
A new meetup at 5.30-7.30pm on Tuesdays, this group caters for both genres of writing. The new time allows those in full-time employment the chance to meet weekly to get a head start on their writing projects.
Held from 2.30-4.30pm on Fridays, the Friday Writing Group attracts a range of novelists, memoir writers, poets and non-fiction writers. With topics ranging from philosophy and history to romance and crime thrillers, it’s a varied group with a range of interests and author experience.
